Between 1966 and 1974 I was a member of the Kvintet Kvarner band. Playing mostly one month long contracts, we toured Europe several times, through Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland and France.

Members of the band in this period were:

Laslo Štajner, Zoran Jurkić, Dragan Arandelović

I left the band in 1974 but "Kvarner" continued to exist for another 7 or 8 years with different members.

The recordings shown here are issued under other names and here is the reason why. “Kvarner bay”, from which we borrowed the name, is part of the beautiful Dalmatian coast, well known by tourists visiting Croatia.

The music groups from this area are often associated with a special kind of folk music called "Klapa", in which the music is "a capella", singing without instrumental accompaniment.

To avoid any misunderstanding about which kind of music we played on these particular recordings, we changed the name and became "VIS Plavi".
